Our Story
A story as rich as
our fritters
The Fritter Shop’s history goes back to 1989 when Jacobus & Anja Van Rijn opened up Lieuwma Dutch Bakery in the heart of Downtown Amsterdam. It quickly became well-known for their high-quality pastries and neighbourly service. Fast forward many years later, after the Van Rijn family sell Lieuwma, and immigrate to Canada, bringing their proprietary & successful recipes with them.
